If you look reasonably strong and think you can lift heavy household items with a couple other strong friends, advertise yourselves as hired muscle/movers. Simply post flyers advertising your ability to lift heavy objects and to assist in loading trucks and moving furniture. Find out what some local moving businesses charge per hour or job and undercut them, obviously you may not be able to actually help a family move houses without a truck, but you can help load and unload and just in everyday heavy lifting that some people may require. Split the profits up among your friends, maybe keeping a little extra for yourself because you organized the venture, and continue doing your jobs. Make sure you save some of the money, either to invest or possibly start an official business once you have gained enough experience. Also be prepared to pay for any repairs needed to items you may damage; try to earn your customer’s trust and look presentable when you show up to a job. You may want to stay away from pianos. This is especially effective if you are on a college campus, where packing, unpacking, and moving heavy bags will provide constant business. This job can be employed year round, and if you find you don’t have time yourself, you can delegate the tasks to your friends. If you find that people don’t do much in the Winter, advertise yourselves as snow shovelers, try to target areas that attract an older crowd that requires assistance in such matters.

This idea may seem childish, but it can make a lot of money, especially when applied to the correct demographic. I met a girl, 16, who raised $8,000 within a year, to pay for herself to go on a trip to Spain. She did so by selling baked goods to skiers at the bottom of the ski mountains in Vermont on the weekends. Basically wherever you can find a large group of people in the same place you can sell baked goods with a pretty high success rate. If you don’t have the time yourself, you may want to higher a baker or a friend to help out and split up the profits. I don’t know much about baking, but if you can spend a few days baking hundreds of goods, and freeze some, you should be able to make some good money. The most profitable way to sell gum is each individually wrapped piece. A $1 pack of gum usually contains 12-15 pieces. If you sell each individual piece for $.25 then you make $3+ a pack or you can sell the whole pack for $2. Either way in a big high school you can make $50+ every Friday throughout the school year, thats an extra $1,500 of income. Although, the real jackpot comes Monday through Thursday; not many kids will buy the regular old candy because it frankly is neither essential nor addictive nor interesting. What kids will buy is asian candy. There is a candy called Hi-chew, in both a cheap American version, and a more expensive Japanese version, that is an absolute delight to eat and is almost addictive. Kids will go crazy for this stuff, especially if there isn’t a china town around or Super 88 where they can buy it themselves. Because people will first be skeptical, buy a fair amount, they are sold as individually wrapped chews in packs of 10 or 12 for about $1.50, and give everyone a free 2 pieces. That’s all they need and they will be hooked. I was in 5th grade and I made $80 in a week selling this stuff to a grade of 56 boys. This candy is so good people will literally be willing to pay $10 for a single pack of 12 pieces. You will easily be able to sell this for about $2.50 to $3.00 a pack and make a killing. The american version sells for about $.60 and can be sold for a bout $1.50 to $2.00 and is also very profitable, below I will link to a couple pictures of the japanese product and later a link to where you can buy it.
